Affiliate disclosure — some links may be affiliate links; we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes our verdicts. Learn more

We exist to answer one question.

Is this actually worth your money? Beauty and health shopping is full of confident claims and confusing labels. Glimo cuts through it.

What Glimo is

Glimo is an independent UK guide to health and beauty buying. We're not a shop and we're not a brand — we're the people who read the ingredient list so you don't have to, compare what's actually on the high street, and tell you plainly what's worth buying and what to skip.

We focus on the categories where people overpay most: skincare actives, sun care, oral care and everyday toiletries. The kind of products you buy on autopilot in Boots or Superdrug, where a little knowledge saves a surprising amount of money.

How we stay independent

Our verdicts are never for sale. No brand pays for a recommendation, a higher ranking, or a kinder write-up — and they never will. When we say a £15 serum beats a £45 one, that's because we believe it, not because someone sponsored the sentence.

Where the evidence is genuinely mixed, we say so. Where a category is mostly marketing, we say that too.

How we make money

To keep the lights on, some of our links are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. That's the whole business model, and we think you deserve to know exactly how it works, so we explain it in full on our disclosure page.

The important part: a commission never changes a verdict. We recommend the same things we'd recommend if no affiliate scheme existed, and we'll happily tell you when the best option is something we earn nothing on.

The standard we hold ourselves to

Spend on what works. Skip what doesn't. That's the entire job.
